Holiday Inn Express - Newark Airport - Elizabeth By Ihg – Hotel near airport in Elizabeth

The hotel was lovely with spacious rooms equipped with a fridge, but the lack of adequate lighting made it hard to see despite all the lights on. The heavy room freshener was quite unpleasant and caused discomfort in my nasal passages. The service was a mixed bag with extremely helpful and friendly staff, but some members were lazy when it came to luggage assistance and demanding tips without doing their job. The location was great, just 5 minutes away from the airport, close to a freeway and the airport, but lacked convenient food options. The dining experience was decent with some delicious options but nothing exceptional. Additional facilities were well-kept, but the heavy room freshener dampened the experience and affected the value for money.

I found the hotel room to be big, comfortable, and perfect for the rate paid, exceeding my expectations compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. However, there was a noticeable bad odor of wetness in the room. The service was efficient and calm despite being very busy, and the staff always had a smile ready to assist. The location was very convenient for my needs after flying in, being close to the airport, but it was remote from restaurants and shopping areas. The dining experience was mediocre at best with limited breakfast options.

I had an overall decent stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and nice but a bit tight, with some renovation noise on level 2. The staff was helpful and accommodating, though there were some mishaps like mishandled baggage and shuttle delays. The location, while convenient next to the airport, suffered from noise disturbances. Dining options were average, and the facilities were satisfactory.
